It is just the fact that dropshipping nowadays is often associated with those ‘get rich quick’ gurus you see all over the internet.

This is the exact same air cooler you saw on the first screenshot from AliExpress, except this time the price has been doubled. So this is how dropshipping works.

And this is happening with all sorts of products and many customers don’t know about it. So that’s why dropshipping is still working in 2020. People don’t know that most of these products come from AliExpress until recently when some people started to find out. Recently people have become more aware of the term ‘dropshipping’ and how it looks and works. This is why there is more competition in 2020 than there was a few years back.

Another reason why people tend to buy from dropshippers is because of their reputation. They prefer to buy from a store that is located in the same country as they live in.

Should you start dropshipping

It is a fact that 20% of new businesses fail within their first year. The chances are probably even higher for dropshipping stores because the dropshipping market has been much more saturated in the last couple of years.

If you do the simple math. If 20% fail that means that 80% of the businesses don’t fail in their first year. With that being said, it is still possible to achieve success with an e-commerce business like dropshipping. The thing is that the market has saturated a lot more

To lower the chance of failing within the first year, I would recommend you to do very good product research before you start and pick a good supplier for your products. You should also know your audience and how to target them.

Not only with dropshipping but with any store, try to provide excellent customer service. People will love it and will come back to you if treat the customer as the king. Also, try to get as much feedback from customers (hopefully positive), so you will build a reputation online. This is important because many people are skeptical of random brands showing up on their Instagram or Facebook feed.

To answer the question, yes dropshipping is still worth it, but you must focus a lot more on excellent customer service and the best products. Another thing to mention is that you shouldn’t focus on becoming rich quick and easy. In that case, dropshipping might not be for you. You should also focus on building a brand instead of hopping from trend to trend. In my opinion, when using these tips, you should be able to achieve great results with dropshipping.
